Which AI Presentation Tools Actually Have a Free Plan?

If you want an AI to build a deck and you do not want to pay yet, the question is not which tools have a free plan. Four of the six here do. The question is whether the free plan lets you leave with a file you can use.
On that test, five of the six fail. Gamma is the only tool of the six whose free plan exports a PowerPoint file. Pitch gives free users a branded PDF. Decktopus puts PPT export on its paid tier. MOVO AI blocks PPTX outright on free. Plus AI and Beautiful.ai have no free plan at all.
The Short Answer

What We Tested
This post is a pricing audit, not our export test. We opened each vendor’s own pricing page — five on 5 August 2026, MOVO AI on 6 August — and recorded what they publish: plan names, the monthly rate and the annual-prepay rate separately, seat counts, what the free tier includes, and which plan unlocks PowerPoint export.
We did not take these numbers from a comparison site. That turned out to matter. While checking Gamma, the summaries in search results listed its Plus plan at $10 a month and Pro at $20. The vendor’s own page shows $12 and $25 for monthly billing, $9 and $18 if you prepay a year. Every figure below comes from the vendor.
What this post does not tell you is whether the file you export is any good. That is our export test, and we’ve since completed it for the three tools that would produce a file at all — Gamma, Decktopus, and Plus AI, all confirmed editable. Beautiful.ai and Pitch both paywall export before generating anything, so those two remain untested. See our full PPTX export comparison for what we found in each file.
Only Free PPTX Export
1. Gamma — Only Free PPTX Export
Gamma is the only one of the six where you can go from a prompt to a .pptx file on your
disk without entering a card. Its free plan lists PDF, PPTX, PNG and Google Slides as export
formats, and Gamma states that no credit card is required to start.
The catch is generation, not export. The free plan caps each prompt at 10 slides. Our own standard brief is a ten-slide deck, which lands exactly at that ceiling — a longer deck means either multiple prompts or the Plus plan, which raises the cap to 75 slides per prompt and adds 1,000 credits a month.
The 400 credits you start with are a one-time grant, not a monthly allowance. That is the number to watch: free here means a fixed quantity of generation, after which the tool stops rather than degrades.

Best Free Collaboration
2. Pitch — Best Free Collaboration
Pitch has the most generous free plan on paper and the most restrictive export. Up to five members can work in a free workspace with unlimited presentations, custom templates, branded sharing links and two external guests. For a small team that presents from a link, that is a real product rather than a teaser.
The moment you need a file, it changes. Free exports are branded PDF only. PowerPoint export starts on the Plus plan — $12 a month billed monthly, or $10 if you prepay a year — and Pitch notes that paid exports carry no added Pitch branding, which implies the free PDF does.
The 100 AI credits on the free plan are granted once. Pitch’s paid tiers describe AI credits in annual terms — 6,000 a year on Plus, 9,000 per seat per year on Business — so if AI generation rather than collaboration is what you came for, the free tier runs out fast.

Free Drafts, Paid Export
3. Decktopus — Free Drafts, Paid Export
Decktopus publishes a free tier with limited AI credits, limited storage and basic deck creation. It does not publish a slide cap or a credit count for that tier, which makes it hard to plan around.
PPT export appears on the Pro plan, and Pro is where Decktopus’s advertised price and its actual monthly price diverge sharply: $9.99 a month if you prepay a year, $19.99 on a three-month term, and $24.99 if you pay month to month. The headline number is the one that requires a year’s commitment up front.
Decktopus does not publish seat counts on any plan, so if you are buying for more than yourself, the price per person is not something you can work out from the pricing page.

Free Credits Refill, Export Blocked
4. MOVO AI — Free Credits Refill, Export Blocked
MOVO AI’s free plan is the only one here whose credits refill. Its pricing page lists 300 credits auto-refilled monthly, against Gamma’s one-time 400 and Pitch’s one-time 100. On the question this post actually asks, though, it lands with the majority: PPTX and Figma export are blocked on free outright, and the PDF and PNG exports it does allow are capped at three uses each and carry a MOVO watermark.
The cheapest plan that lifts that is Pro at $19.99 a month. MOVO publishes no annual rate — the pricing page has an annual billing tab, but the figure never loads — so unlike every other tool here, there is no cheaper prepaid number to compare against.

Prices below are read from MOVO's public pricing page exactly as we read every other vendor's, because a published price is checkable by anyone and a self-test is not.

Trial Only
5. Plus AI — Trial Only
Plus AI has no free plan. What it has instead is a different shape of product: rather than generating a deck and exporting it, Plus AI runs inside Google Slides and PowerPoint. There is no export step, which means there is no export step to lose fidelity in — the file you are editing is already a native one.
That makes it hard to compare on the axis this site cares about, and worth being explicit about: a tool with no export cannot fail an export test. It can still fail you in other ways, and it costs $15 a month billed monthly or $10 if you prepay a year on the Basic plan.
The 7-day trial includes 1,000 AI credits. Plus AI does not publish seat counts on its Pro and Team plans, describing them as unlimited team members instead.

There's no separate export/conversion step to test the way there is for the other tools here — Plus AI generates content using PowerPoint's own native objects from the start, and confirmed testing found everything (text, chart, table) fully editable, as expected from that mechanism.

Beautiful.ai has no free plan and the trial takes a card. Fourteen days, then it bills automatically unless you cancel. That is a subscription with a delay, not a free tier, and it is the one distinction worth reading a pricing page carefully for.
The advertised Pro rate of $14.50 a month is annual prepay only — $174 up front. The same individual Pro plan billed month to month is $45, a 3.1x difference and the widest we found here. The Teams plan is $50 per user month to month, or $40 per user if you prepay a year.
Beautiful.ai does list editable PowerPoint export as a feature, which puts it directly in scope for our export test. We have not run it.

PPTX export Not tested yet — Confirmed firsthand: clicking "Export Slide" opens an upgrade paywall ("Unlock this feature when you upgrade to the Pro plan") before any file is produced — no PPTX to test editability on without paying. This matches what Beautiful.ai's own support docs already say about export being Pro/Team/Enterprise-only; the firsthand attempt confirms the gate is real, not the editability itself.
Reported elsewhere (not verified by us): Editable — Beautiful.ai's own support documentation describes an editable PowerPoint export on Pro/Team/Enterprise. Common complaints are font substitution and bullets/icons converting to separate shapes, not flattened images. Beautiful.ai Support — "How do I export as an editable PowerPoint?" . We'll replace this the moment we run our own test.

The pattern underneath these plans
Three things repeat across these six vendors, and none of them are visible from a headline price.
The advertised price is usually the annual one. Five of the six publish an annual-prepay rate rendered as a monthly figure, and it is always the lower number. Beautiful.ai is the extreme case at 3.1x ($14.50 vs $45) with Decktopus close behind at 2.5x, but Gamma, Pitch and Plus AI all show a lower headline than month-to-month costs too. MOVO AI is the exception only because its annual rate doesn’t load at all.
“Free plan” and “free export” are different claims. All four free plans here let you build a deck. One lets you take it with you as a PowerPoint file.
Credits on free plans are usually one-time. Gamma’s 400 and Pitch’s 100 are grants, not monthly allowances, and Decktopus publishes no number at all. MOVO’s 300 is the one free allowance here described as refilling monthly. Otherwise, monthly credit budgets start on paid tiers.

Which AI presentation tool is free?
Gamma, Pitch, Decktopus and MOVO AI all publish a free plan. Plus AI and Beautiful.ai do not — they offer 7-day and 14-day trials instead. Of the four free plans, only Gamma's exports a PowerPoint file; Pitch's exports a branded PDF, Decktopus puts PPT export on its paid Pro plan, and MOVO blocks PPTX on free entirely.
Can I export to PowerPoint without paying?
Of the six tools we checked, only Gamma includes PPTX export on its free plan. Pitch requires a paid plan for PowerPoint export and gives free users a branded PDF instead. This is the single biggest difference between the free tiers, and it is rarely stated on the pricing page itself.

Gamma states that no credit card is required to start. Beautiful.ai's 14-day trial requires a card and begins billing automatically unless you cancel before the trial ends. That distinction matters more than the headline price: a trial with a card on file is a subscription with a delay, not a free plan.
How many slides can you make on a free plan?
Gamma's free plan caps generation at 10 slides per prompt and starts you with 400 credits. Pitch does not cap the number of presentations on its free plan but grants 100 AI credits once, not monthly. Decktopus describes its free tier as limited AI credits and limited storage without publishing a slide count.
Are AI credits monthly or one-time on free plans?
This varies and it is easy to misread. Gamma gives 400 credits at signup and Pitch grants 100 as a one-time allowance, neither of which refills. MOVO AI is the exception among the free plans here: its pricing page states 300 credits auto-refill monthly. On the others, monthly allowances start on paid tiers — Gamma's Plus includes 1,000 a month, Pro 4,000.
Is the advertised monthly price the real monthly price?
Often not. Most of these tools advertise the annual-prepay rate as a monthly figure. Beautiful.ai has the widest gap we found — $14.50 a month prepaid annually against $45 month to month, a 3.1x difference — with Decktopus close behind at 2.5x ($9.99 vs $24.99). Every price on this page says which billing period it belongs to.
