We built the same ten-slide B2B sales deck in Gamma and Plus AI, then opened the results in Microsoft PowerPoint and clicked through the text, chart, comparison table, and CTA. Both routes produced editable objects in our test. The practical difference is not whether the file can be edited. It is whether you want a free web-first drafting route with an export step, or a paid tool that works inside PowerPoint from the beginning.

What we compared
We used the same ten-slide test procedure for both tools. Gamma generated the deck in its own editor and exported it to PPTX. Plus AI generated the deck inside PowerPoint. The test records are from 2026-08-05; this article does not pretend we reran them on the publication date.
We separately rechecked the time-sensitive plan facts on 2026-08-17. Gamma’s official pricing page lists 400 signup credits, a 10-slide-per-prompt limit, and PPTX export on Free. Plus AI’s official pricing page lists Basic at $15 per user billed monthly or $10 per user per month billed annually, after a 7-day trial with 1,000 credits. We did not compare design quality, prompt quality, or credit consumption because those would require a separate current test.

Gamma is the cheaper way to end with an editable PowerPoint file. Its free plan includes PPTX export, and our standard deck stayed editable after export: the text, chart, comparison table, and CTA remained separate PowerPoint objects. That makes the qualifying cost $0 as long as the free plan’s 10-slide-per-prompt limit fits the job.
The tradeoff is the handoff. You draft in Gamma, export, and then continue in PowerPoint. Gamma’s export documentation confirms PPTX as an export format and says free exports keep Gamma branding. Our editability test does not prove pixel-for-pixel visual fidelity for every theme or effect.

Plus AI removes the handoff instead of making it free. Its official pricing page says the subscription includes its extensions for both PowerPoint and Google Slides. In our PowerPoint test, the generated text, chart, and table were editable objects from the start. There was no exported copy to compare with an original.
The cost is straightforward but not zero. Basic is $15 per user on monthly billing or $10 per user per month when billed annually. New customers can use a 7-day trial with 1,000 credits, but the vendor says a card is required and the subscription charges automatically when the trial ends unless it is cancelled.

Choose Plus AI when PowerPoint is the working environment rather than only the delivery format. You pay at least $15 for one month, or commit to annual billing at $10 per user per month, but the deck begins and stays in PowerPoint instead of moving there after generation.
This is a workflow and price decision, not a blanket quality ranking. Our test establishes that both routes produced editable objects under one repeatable brief. It does not establish that either tool always designs better slides or uses fewer credits.
