Which SEO Tools Let You Export a Real Report Without Paying Extra?

Every one of these four tools is commonly recommended as a “best SEO tool” without anyone checking one specific thing: if you’re on the cheapest plan, or the free one, can you actually walk away with a report — or is that gated behind something else you have to buy first? We read each vendor’s own pricing page to find out.

- Ubersuggest — Ubersuggest is the only tool here where every paid plan, including the cheapest, includes CSV and PDF export with no separate purchase.
- Semrush — Semrush's free plan gives you 10 reports a day across its tools, but PDF export itself is a $10/mo add-on on top of any plan, free included.
- Ahrefs — Ahrefs' Report Builder costs $99/mo on top of whatever base plan you already pay for — the most expensive export add-on of the four tools we checked.
- Surfer SEO — Surfer SEO has no free tier to evaluate against this question at all — every plan requires payment from the start.

What we checked
For each tool, we read the official pricing page directly — not a comparison site’s summary of it — and recorded three things: what the free plan (if one exists) includes, what each paid tier costs on both monthly and annual billing, and specifically whether report export (PDF or CSV, ready to hand to a client) is included at that price or requires something extra. We did not create an account with any of these tools; everything here comes from what each vendor publishes about its own plans.
Export Bundled, No Add-On

Ubersuggest is the one tool in this group where export isn’t a separate line item. All three plans — Individual at $12/mo, Business at $20/mo, Enterprise at $40/mo — list “Export images, CSV and PDF” as an included feature, not an upsell. The tradeoff is that there’s no perpetual free plan to test this against at all; you’re choosing between three paid tiers from the start.

Semrush has real free-plan value — 10 reports a day across more than 20 tools, not one crippled feature. But dedicated report export, the kind with scheduling and PDF output, lives in a separate Base Report add-on at $10/mo, and that add-on sits on top of every plan including the free one. You can be a paying Semrush Advanced customer at $549/mo and still not have report export until you add the $10 line item.

Ahrefs follows the same shape as Semrush — export gated behind a separate purchase regardless of your base plan — but at a much higher price. Report Builder costs $99/mo on top of whatever you’re already paying, whether that’s the $29/mo Starter plan or the $449/mo Advanced plan. That’s roughly 10 times Semrush’s equivalent add-on for the same basic idea: a white-labeled, schedulable report export.

We did not find export described as a separate add-on the way Semrush and Ahrefs describe theirs, but we also have not confirmed export behavior on the lowest paid tier directly, so we’re not claiming it’s included either.

Which SEO tool lets you export a report for free?
None of the four we checked include report export on a $0 plan. Semrush's free plan exists but export requires its $10/mo Base Report add-on. The closest thing to 'cheap and included' is Ubersuggest, where the $12/mo Individual plan bundles export with no extra add-on.
Why do Semrush and Ahrefs charge extra just to export a report?
We don't know their reasoning, only what their own pricing pages show: both treat client-ready report export as a distinct add-on product, priced separately ($10/mo for Semrush's Base Report, $99/mo for Ahrefs' Report Builder) from every subscription tier, including their most expensive ones.
Is Ahrefs' Report Builder worth $99 a month?
We're not in a position to say — that depends on how many client reports you send and what agencies charge for that work. What we can say is that it's the highest report-export add-on price of the four tools we checked, at roughly 10x Semrush's equivalent add-on.
Does Ubersuggest have a free plan?
Not a perpetual one, based on its official pricing page — we found only three paid tiers ($12/$20/$40 a month) with a free-trial button, despite some marketing copy elsewhere implying limited free daily searches. What it does have is export bundled into all three paid tiers with no separate add-on, which none of the other three tools here match.
