Beautiful.ai vs Plus AI: What Editable PowerPoint Costs

Plus AI is the lower-cost route to editable PowerPoint slides on either published billing option. Its Basic plan costs $15 for one month or $10 per user per month when billed annually. Beautiful.ai puts editable PowerPoint export on Pro, priced at $45 on the monthly option or $12 per month with annual billing. The gap is $30 for a single month, but only $24 across a prepaid year.
The evidence behind the word “editable” is not equal. We tested Plus AI inside PowerPoint on 2026-08-05 and found its generated text, chart, and table remained editable objects. Beautiful.ai stopped our unpaid test at the export paywall, so its editability result remains vendor-documented rather than hands-on.
The Short Answer
- Plus AI — Plus AI starts at $15 for one month or $10 per month with annual billing and creates editable slides inside PowerPoint instead of exporting into it.
- Beautiful.ai — Beautiful.ai documents editable PowerPoint export on Pro, priced at $45 monthly or $12 per month when the full $144 year is prepaid.
| Tool | Best for | From | Free | PPTX export |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Plus AI | Native PowerPoint from $15 Monthly | $10/mo (annual) | No | Editable |
| Beautiful.ai | Editable Export at $45 Monthly | $12/mo (annual) | No | Editable * |
What this comparison measures
We compared the cheapest currently published plan that ends with an editable PowerPoint file. That means the regular monthly option and the annual-prepay equivalent, not slide quality, prompt quality, template selection, or AI-credit consumption. Those questions require a different test.
Plus AI’s official pricing page lists Basic at $15 per user on monthly billing or $10 per user per month billed annually. It says the subscription includes the Plus AI extensions for both PowerPoint and Google Slides. Our 2026-08-05 hands-on test used the PowerPoint route; this article does not pretend that test was rerun today.
Beautiful.ai’s official pricing page lists Pro at $45 on its monthly option or $12 per month billed annually. Its current export documentation says editable PowerPoint export is available only on Pro, Team, and Enterprise. We confirmed the paywall in our 2026-08-05 attempt, but did not buy Pro and therefore did not inspect the resulting file.
The billing period changes the size of the decision
| Billing choice | Plus AI Basic | Beautiful.ai Pro | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| One month | $15 | $45 | Beautiful.ai costs $30 more, or 3x |
| Annual prepay | $120/year | $144/year | Beautiful.ai costs $24 more, or 1.2x |
The annual figures are monthly equivalents, not month-to-month contracts. Plus AI’s $10 rate means paying $120 for a year; Beautiful.ai’s $12 rate means paying $144. For a short project, the relevant comparison is $15 against $45. For someone willing to prepay a year, the products are only $2 apart per month.
Native PowerPoint from $15 Monthly
1. Plus AI — Native PowerPoint from $15 Monthly
Plus AI makes the delivery format the workspace. The vendor’s plan table says Basic creates AI presentations in PowerPoint and Google Slides, and the subscription includes both extensions. In our PowerPoint test, the generated text, chart, and comparison table were editable objects from the start, so there was no exported copy to compare against an original.
Basic costs $15 per user on monthly billing or $10 per user per month billed annually. New customers get a 7-day trial with 1,000 AI credits, but Plus AI says a card is required and the chosen paid plan begins automatically when the trial ends unless it is cancelled.
From $10/mo (annual). No free plan.
- Basic — $15/mo, or $10/mo billed annually · 1 seat
- Pro — $25/mo, or $20/mo billed annually
- Team — $40/mo, or $30/mo billed annually
- Max — $240/mo, or $200/mo billed annually
PPTX export Editable — Tested directly inside PowerPoint using our standard brief. There's no separate export/conversion step to test the way there is for the other tools here — Plus AI generates content using PowerPoint's own native objects from the start, and confirmed testing found everything (text, chart, table) fully editable, as expected from that mechanism.
Pros
- Runs inside Google Slides and PowerPoint rather than exporting to them, so there is no export step to lose fidelity in
- Confirmed editable by our own test — expected given the native mechanism, but verified rather than assumed
Skip it if
- No free plan — a 7-day trial with 1,000 AI credits requires a credit card, then it bills automatically unless cancelled
Editable Export at $45 Monthly
2. Beautiful.ai — Editable Export at $45 Monthly
Beautiful.ai uses a separate build-and-export workflow. The vendor’s support documentation says Pro, Team, and Enterprise users can export an editable PowerPoint file in which the elements and presentation notes remain editable. It also names two handoff limits: missing fonts can change the result, and external platforms do not preserve Beautiful.ai transitions or animations.
We can verify the gate more strongly than the output. Our unpaid attempt reached an upgrade prompt before any file was generated, so there was nothing to open in PowerPoint. Pro now costs $45 on the monthly option or $12 per month billed annually. The 14-day trial requires a card and converts to billing unless cancelled before it ends.
From $12/mo (annual). No free plan.
- Pro (individual) — $45/mo, or $12/mo billed annually · 1 seat
- Teams (2-20 seats, per user) — $50/mo, or $40/mo billed annually
PPTX export Not tested yet — Confirmed firsthand: clicking "Export Slide" opens an upgrade paywall ("Unlock this feature when you upgrade to the Pro plan") before any file is produced — no PPTX to test editability on without paying. This matches what Beautiful.ai's own support docs already say about export being Pro/Team/Enterprise-only; the firsthand attempt confirms the gate is real, not the editability itself.
Reported elsewhere (not verified by us): Editable — Beautiful.ai's own support documentation describes an editable PowerPoint export on Pro, Team, and Enterprise, including editable elements and presentation notes. It warns that unavailable fonts can change the exported appearance and that transitions and animations are lost outside Beautiful.ai. Beautiful.ai Support — "Exporting your slides and presentations" . We'll replace this the moment we run our own test.
Skip it if
- There is no free plan — only a 14-day trial that requires a card and bills automatically unless cancelled
- The advertised $12/mo Pro rate requires a full year prepaid; the month-to-month option is $45, a 3.75x gap
- Export itself is paywalled — confirmed firsthand that even Slide Export triggers an upgrade prompt before producing a file
The decision rule
Choose Plus AI when price and staying inside PowerPoint are the deciding constraints. It is $30 cheaper for one month, $24 cheaper across a prepaid year, and its editable-object result is the one we have tested directly.
Choose Beautiful.ai only when its separate editor and documented export workflow suit your process well enough to justify the higher price. Treat editability there as a current vendor claim until an independent paid test produces a file; do not read this comparison as a design- quality verdict for either product.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Beautiful.ai or Plus AI cheaper for editable PowerPoint slides?
Plus AI is cheaper on both published billing options. Basic costs $15 for monthly billing or $10 per month with annual billing. Beautiful.ai Pro costs $45 on its monthly option or $12 per month billed annually. That is a $30 difference for one month and a $24 difference over a prepaid year.
Do Beautiful.ai and Plus AI both produce editable PowerPoint slides?
The evidence is different. We tested Plus AI inside PowerPoint and found the generated objects editable. Beautiful.ai blocked our unpaid export attempt before producing a file, so we did not test its output; its current support documentation says Pro, Team, and Enterprise can export an editable PowerPoint file.
How much is one year of Beautiful.ai or Plus AI?
Beautiful.ai Pro is advertised at $12 per month when billed annually, which totals $144 upfront for a year. Plus AI Basic is $10 per user per month with annual billing, which totals $120. The annual difference is $24, with Beautiful.ai costing 1.2 times as much on that billing basis.
Does either tool have a free plan?
No. Plus AI offers new customers a 7-day trial with 1,000 AI credits and requires a card. Beautiful.ai offers a 14-day Pro trial that also requires a card. Both vendors say billing begins automatically after the trial unless the subscription is cancelled.
What can change when Beautiful.ai exports to PowerPoint?
Beautiful.ai says the PowerPoint file remains editable, but its support documentation warns that unavailable fonts can change the exported appearance. It also says external platforms do not preserve Beautiful.ai transitions and animations. We did not pay to generate and inspect the exported file ourselves.
